Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic comedy The Piano at the young age of eleven. She was the second youngest recipient in Oscar History. The part of Flora McGrath - the daughter to an Scottish muffle pianist in New Zealand at mid-19th Century - was won by her at an open audition. When she was nine years old the actress had no experience acting. The actress moved to the United States as a teen. Paquin was Jane Eyre's title character as a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and her main character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of the novel by Carson McCullers The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The role she played was for teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) and A Walk on the Moon (2000). She played the role of a groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
